Netball Preview: Trentham v Natte Bealiba
With the goal of avenging their 2024 grand final loss to Avoca, Natte Bealiba will start their 2025 campaign against a Trentham side keen to break through into finals in 2025.
Despite their defeat on the grandest stage, the Swans will enter the season as one of the favourites to fight for the premiership alongside Avoca.
The Swans were on a 17-game winning streak in the 2024 season, with losses to Avoca starting and ending their season.
With the grand final loss behind them, and the introduction of fresh faces like Ebony Raven and Bella Westbrook, the Swans will look to return to the court back and better than ever.
After finishing fifth and making the semi-final in 2023, Trentham seemed poised to be a solid contender for finals in 2024.
After finishing the 2023 season 11-5, the Saints unfortunately inverted their record in 2024, ending eight points adrift of Newstead who held the last finals place.
Trentham will be hoping that a strong pre-season can stem the tide and see the Saints hover back up the table.
While defeating the Swans in the opening round might be a tough order, the Saints will be motivated to do better than when these two teams clashed last year.
Natte Bealiba limited Trentham to only 20 goals as they took a dominant 54-goal win in round eight.
