Helen Slater’s Carisbrook picked up a strong win on Tuesday.

Dunolly Blue maintained its dominating start to their campaign with an impressive 100-25 victory against Talbot.

The win keeps Dunolly Blue in first with a 3-0 record and a remarkable 215 score difference.

Chris Williams made quick work of Robert Jackson to win 36-8, while Alan Weir defeated Barbara Crossley 36-9 and Tony Galofaro completed Dunolly Blue’s shutout by vanquishing Chris Crossley 28-8.

Highland Tartan were forced to work hard to stay right on Dunolly Blue’s heels on the ladder, but eventually overran a valiant Avoca 76-40.

Tartan’s title defence has opened without a blemish on their record as Gregory Shay was triumphant over Avoca’s Ann Loosmore 24-17, Garry Coburn prevailed 25-14 against Geoff Loosmore and Harvey Pearce overpowered Loralee Field 27-9.

Last season’s runners-up, Mary-borough Golf, have emerged as the leader of the chasing pack to Dunolly Blue and Highland Tartan with a commanding win over Highland Gold 76-29.

Graeme Orr and Francis Smith put Golf in control, with Orr quelling Rhonda Watkins 29-7 and Smith getting the better of Dennis Prosser 30-8.

Tilleke Wadeson fought hard to grab a rink victory for Highland Gold, but Golf’s Kort Gay did just enough to take the contest 17-14.

Following their tough loss to Highland Tartan last week, Carisbrook bounced back with a vengeance by defeating Dunolly Gold 74-51.

After nothing could separate Carisbrook’s Roy Pickering and Dunolly Gold’s Debbie Wintle in an entertaining 21-21 draw, the match came down to the final two rinks.

Patricia Stancombe and Denise Matic secured both rinks for Carisbrook, with Stancombe too good for Wayne Stephens 28-20 and Matic delivering a decisive blow versus Charles Spiteri 25-10.

While this season’s midweek pennant remains in its infancy, round four could potentially be a critical juncture for multiple teams.

In what on paper looks to be the match of the round, Carisbrook attempts to build from Tuesday’s win in a challenging home test against early frontrunners Dunolly Blue.

Dunolly Blue will hope for Dunolly Gold to do them a massive favour by taking some points off their closest rivals in their upcoming clash against Highland Tartan.

Currently boasting a 2-1 record, Maryborough Golf can further affix itself inside the top four when it hosts a quickly improving Avoca.

Talbot and Highland Gold will face off at Talbot with both teams looking to rectify their losses on Tuesday.
